Wednesday, January 24, 2001:

Regular member attendees were:
Roy, Dain, Greg, Ed, Brian, & Bill
We had three guests show up, David Larson and Mike Rasmussen and Ben Miller.

Ben Miller had brought over a couple of PCs in order to combine them into a working Linux computer to act as our AppleLinc web server. He had various problems and issues getting Linux to load. It was not up as of this writing.

It needs to be noted that Carl Knoblock was not present to get his picture taken for the web site. (Greg had brought a camera just for Carl who had been overheard mentioning the absence of his likeness on our web page.)

Discussion of the web site noted that it needs an updating, especially to the members page.

David larson brought a couple of boxes of stuff that Nordic Software no longer needs or uses. Ed Agreed to purchase the IIe stuff David was offering under the condition that they would be willing to wait for Ed to get his tax refund.

Ed helped out Mike Rassmussen by adjusting his monitor. Ed said that it still needs a convergence allignment and figured it'd been dropped. Mike seemed pleased with the results, even as they were.

We all meandered through the box David brought over and inside were various documentation and Apple II manuals and references.

Brian brought some boxes of Apple II magazines for the club to add to the ever growing library.

Saturday, January 27, 2001:

Regular members attendees were:
Roy, Dain, Bill, Ed & Greg.

Roy brought juice, milk and doughnuts!

The usual conversation and sharing of experiences went on. We all seem to love to talk about what we have done and continue to do with our Apple II, computers, politics, etc.

Another discussion has made it apparent that many of us in the group would like a listing of all the articles we have at our disposal in the AppleLinc library. Not only a list, but an electronically stored searchable database of information and references for all the stuff we have in the way of documentation. Bill suggested that we take each magazine and photocopy the TOC as a starting point. Some ideas about when and where to photocopy were thrown around.

Another idea is to utilize the AppleLinc meetings to have members assist with this project by scanning them instead. Bill volunteered to provide and set up equipment during the meetings for this purpose. Ed suggested that we might as well scan the entire magazine while we were at it and burn them on CD as we get enough scans to fill a disk.

Roy and Ed have decided that the Library needs to be counted and listed as a first step. Discussions including ideas from Bill led to an agreement from Ed and Roy to cooperate and count all the stuff they have. Roy and Ed will begin catalogging for an hour or two each Monday evening. Bill has agreed to help organize the data electronically.
